Kenneth Edward Franck “Big Chief”, 74, died November 30, 2008 in Rockledge, Florida. Born November 21, 1934 in Dayton, Ohio, he was the son of John and Mildred (Edick) Franck. A former Bloomington resident, he was employed by RCA/Thomson Consumer Electronics at both Indianapolis and Bloomington plants. He was last employed by Packaging Systems of Indiana, Lafayette. Survivors include his son: Eric Franck, daughter: Jill Burns, mother: Mildred Franck, brothers: Jack and Richard Franck and three (3) grandchildren.
Ken was more than this obituary reflects. He was one of our first employees and was instrumental in the growth of Packaging Systems. Ken was a gentel man, a man with a sharp wit and an almost encyclopedic memory. "The Chief" will be fondly remembered for the interested life he led, and for the many Ken stories that will be told and retold. Family members told us that Ken continued to talk about his experiences with Packaging Systems and was looking forward to the day he would be able to return to work. We are all better for having known "The Chief" and he will be sorely missed.
